How to book the best vacation home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Morehead City area. Book your Morehead City rental home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many management companies supply Morehead City area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting and booking a perfect Morehead City vacation home:

  • Select your dates and spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. 4 bedroom retreat just two blocks from ocean access. Pet-friendly! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is bringing pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
