Tips and Tricks to get the best rental experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Summertime is high season in the Morehead City area. To get the largest rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Morehead City restaurants and activities.
  • Some hosts offer special rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many rental management companies supply Morehead City area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to pick the best rental in Pine Knoll Shores:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Newly built in 2024 Stunning Oceanfront Coastal Retreat has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property owner before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental

Advice for a great stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
