Vacation rental home tips:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To get the largest vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Selecting and booking the best Morehead City rental home:

  • Start by choosing a vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Newly built in 2024 Stunning Oceanfront Coastal Retreat has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you reserve the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to inspire more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
