Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Pine Knoll Shores vacation home experience:

Finding the best value:

  • Summer is high season in Pine Knoll Shores. To get the best value, try shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area visitor guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose the perfect rental home in Pine Knoll Shores:

  • First, have your group choose the best dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Big Kahuna - Oceanfront (As seen on HGTV Beach Hunters) has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to propel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
