How to get the best Morehead City vacation rental experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Emerald Isle rental home:

  • Booking your vacation home in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Planning, picking, and booking a perfect Morehead City rental:

  • Start by having your family commit to trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Where Isle Be - Emerald Isle, Central Location, Game Room, Hot Tub has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of problems.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
