Vacation rental home tips and tricks:

How to get the best value:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the most suitable rental within budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many management companies supply Morehead City area visitor guides which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking your Morehead City rental:

  • Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Family and Pet Oriented Home That Will Assure You of Wonderful Memories has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
  • Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
