Rental property booking tips and tricks:

Sticking to your budget:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Summer is high season in Indian Beach. To get the best value, change your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Selecting and booking the rightrental:

  • Select your dates and budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. The High Tide Hideaway- Direct Sound front , pool, steps to beach has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. Otherwise, call the property management company before you book your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
  • If there's a specific Morehead City destination you are enamored with, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of problems.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the property manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
