Booking the best Emerald Isle vacation property experience:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To get the largest rental home within budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides have deals for local tours and attractions.

Selecting and booking a perfect Morehead City rental:

  • Start by selecting vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Simple Blessings - Soundfront cottage with dock and boatlift - ask for discount has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what is best for your vacation.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.

During your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many difficulties.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the property manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
