Tricks and tips to get the optimal Morehead City vacation property experience:

When to book a Morehead City rental & When to go:

  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Morehead City area. Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Make a plan and choose the rightvacation home:

  • First, have your group select trip dates and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Gorgeous 3 Bedroom Ocean Front Condo in Emerald Isle has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you book the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Tips for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many difficulties.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Contact the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a excellent vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
