Strategies to get the perfect Emerald Isle vacation property experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • To find the largest rental within your budget, we suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning, selecting, and booking a perfectrental home:

  • Choose vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Just For The Halibut \nOcean Front Stay\nPet-Friendly has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
  • If there's a certain Morehead City attraction you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Advice for a great stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • During arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
