Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Morehead City rental home experience:

Sticking to a spending budget:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Morehead City area travel guides that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing the best vacation home in Atlantic Beach:

  • Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Gorgeous Townhome w\/Ocean Views has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If not, email or call the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of issues.
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Upon arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
