Vacation rental home tips:

When to go & When to reserve a rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To book the most suitable rental home within your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Morehead City attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to choose the best vacation rental in Atlantic Beach:

  • Select a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Island Beach Racquet Club 303A, Oceanfront Condo in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property owner before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
