Tips to get the best Morehead City vacation property experience:

Find your best deal:

  • Summer months are high season in Emerald Isle. Booking in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many management companies supply Morehead City area travel guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Finding the perfect rental home in Emerald Isle:

  • First and foremost, have your family choose a vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Custom Beachfront Home, Oceanfront Oasis to relax and recharge. has 2 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. If not, call the host before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.

Have a great stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the rental manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a excellent vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
