How to find the best Atlantic Beach vacation rental experience:

When to book a Morehead City rental & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Morehead City area. Book your rental home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Morehead City visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Start by choosing trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. A Place at the Beach 319 has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a certain Morehead City beach you long to visit, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • During arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
