Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Atlantic Beach rental home:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in the Morehead City area. To get the best value, consider changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many management companies supply Morehead City area visitors guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • First and foremost, have your family decide on date ranges and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. A Place at the Beach 319 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Does your group require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Advice for a great stay:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
