Tips to get the perfect Morehead City vacation rental experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • To get the best vacation home for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Morehead City attractions and restaurants.
  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area visitors guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to select the best vacation home in the Morehead City area:

  • Select a group lead, select your dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Beach Music II, Oceanfront House in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property owner before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is right for your trip.
  • If there's a particular Morehead City attraction you love, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Know before you go:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the property manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many concerns.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
