How to find the best Emerald Isle rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Morehead City area. To find the largest vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Morehead City restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Pebble Beach C204, 3BR Condo ~ OCEAN VIEWS! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property manager before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Advice for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
