How to get the best Morehead City vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Summer time is high season in the Morehead City area. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many property management companies supply Morehead City area travel guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Dolphin's Run, Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. Otherwise, call the property owner before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or may be applied to your agreement.

Tips for your stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
