Getting the best Morehead City vacation rental experience:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • Book your Morehead City rental property in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning and picking the rightrental:

  • Start by choosing a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. The Sanderling Tiny Cabin Water Access\/Private Shared dock has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or could be applied to your contract.

Know before you go:

  • Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the property manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
