New Bern vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Finding the best value:

  • Booking in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area visitors guides that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose the best rental in New Bern:

  • Select your vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Unique 2 Bedroom Condo
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property manager before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • If there's a certain Morehead City destination you long to visit, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.

During your stay:

  • Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
