Our top Morehead City vacation rental tips and tricks:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in New Bern. Reserve your Morehead City vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local Morehead City visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain discounts for local tours and attractions.

Planning and choosing a perfectrental:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
  • Water View of New Bern has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.

Have a great stay:

  • Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to inspire new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
