Booking the best Emerald Isle rental experience:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Morehead City area. Book your vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local Morehead City area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain deals for local shops and restaurants.

Selecting the best rental home:

  • Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Queens Court 1108, Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
  • Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

During your stay:

  • Add the owner's information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • At Check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
