Strategies to get the optimal Morehead City rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Morehead City area. To get the largest rental within budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Morehead City restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Choosing the perfect rental home in Emerald Isle:

  • Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Queens Court 1108, Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • If there's a specific Morehead City beach you are enamored with, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Know before you go:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • At Check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
