Our top Morehead City rental booking tips and tricks:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in Emerald Isle. Booking in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area visitor guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Make a plan and pick the right Morehead City vacation home:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Pier Point 5B3, Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your group.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
