Our top Emerald Isle rental home booking tips:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to pick the perfect rental home in the Morehead City area:

  • Select your vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Pier Point 5B3, Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property management company before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what is right for your group.
  • If there's a certain Morehead City beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Record any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
