How to book the best Morehead City vacation property experience:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking your Morehead City vacation home in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies supply Morehead City area travel guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Great Ocean & Pool Views! 2 Bed 2 Bath Luxury Condo Sleeps 6 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or applied to your contract.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the host's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • During check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of issues.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
