Our top Morehead City rental home tips:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Emerald Isle. To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be objective.
