Start your mornings with a calming coffee on the private deck off the primary bedroom, or appreciate a friendly game of ping pong and corn hole when you're ready for a break from the beach. Inside, you'll find extravagant furnishings throughout, a completely equipped kitchen, and the convenience of a washer and dryer. With just a short walk to public beach access, The Salty Pelican is the ideal spot for a calming coastal escape.

WHAT IS PROVIDED:
Spectrum Rental Properties will provide sheets and bath towels. Beach towels and equipment is not included. If you would like information on beach equipment units, we are more than happy to provide you with a list. Properties will be supplied with a starter kit in each full bathroom and kitchen. Each kitchen starter kit will contain a modest bottle of dish soap, two dishwasher pods, sponge, and two fragrance complimentary laundry pods. The kitchen will also have one additional trash bag
Each bathroom starter kit will contain a travel size shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, makeup wipe, and body bar.
Spectrum Rental Properties is unfortunately not able to provide additional boxes/bags. This is a starter kit; anything additional will be guests responsibility to provide.

PET POLICY:
Dogs are allowed with a $200 + tax non returnable pet fee per dog, with a 3 dog max..
Vacation Rental By Owner guests: Guests can only add one dog to the reservation. If you are planning to bring more than one dog, please notify Spectrum Properties to add the additional pet fee(s).
Failure to let us know about your pet(s) could result in a $700 fine.

-For beach access, turn to the right when walking out the door. It is about a 5 to 7 min. walk from the home.

About the Area

Located in Atlantic Beach, this vacation home is near the beach. North Carolina Maritime Museum and Core Sound Waterfowl Museum and Heritage Center are cultural highlights, and some of the area's landmarks include Fort Macon State Park and Beaufort Historic Site. North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores and Professor Hacker's Lost Treasure Golf and Raceway are also worth visiting. With fishing and swimming nearby, you'll find plenty of adventures in the water.

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • To book the best rental within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Morehead City attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.

  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a great time? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
