Strategies for getting the perfect Morehead City vacation rental experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Atlantic Beach rental home:

  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • To find the largest rental home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Morehead City restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.

Selecting the perfect rental:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. First-Floor, Oceanfront Condo with WiFi & Shared Pools\/Hot Tub\/Tennis\/Game Room has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. Otherwise, call the property owner before you book the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's an individual Morehead City destination you simply love, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
  • Upon check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great time? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
