Beaufort vacation rental tips:

When to visit Beaufort & When to book:

  • The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Beaufort. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local Morehead City visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to select the perfect vacation rental:

  • Choose your dates and max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Down East cottage with views of Ward Creek has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the host before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your family.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Advice for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Upon check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
