How to book the best Morehead City vacation home experience:

Sticking to a budget:

  • Summer months are high season in the Morehead City area. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area visitor guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting and booking the right Morehead City rental:

  • Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Charming, warm & tranquil historic downtown New Bern home has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property owner before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's an individual Morehead City beach you love, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the host right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to compel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
