Booking the best Pine Knoll Shores rental home experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Summer is high season in the Morehead City area. Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, property management companies supply Morehead City area visitor guides that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting the perfect rental home in the Morehead City area:

  • Select your vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Charming beach condo with seasonal pool & washer\/dryer - steps from the ocean has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the host before reserving the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Know before you go:

  • Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
