Finding the best Atlantic Beach vacation home experience:

When to reserve a Morehead City rental & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Atlantic Beach. Book your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Blue Marlin-Walk to The Atlantic Ocean, 2 Bedrooms, Sleeps 6 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property owner before you book the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Advice for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
