How to book the best Morehead City rental home experience:

When to reserve a Morehead City rental & When to go:

  • To book the largest rental within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Morehead City area travel guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to select the best rental:

  • First, have your group agree to a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Blue Marlin-Walk to The Atlantic Ocean, 2 Bedrooms, Sleeps 6 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property management company before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation family.
  • If there's a certain Morehead City beach you are enamored with, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.

Have a great stay:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the host right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
