Tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summer time is high season in Emerald Isle. To find the best vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Morehead City area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing the best rental home in Emerald Isle:

  • First, have your family select the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Beautiful 5 BR Soundfront home featuring Boat Slip, Saline Pool, Fire Pit, Hot T has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what is right for your family.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs applied to your invoice.

Additional considerations:

  • Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, note any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
