Atlantic Beach just made #16 in the list of Top 100 Beaches in the United States, beating out even beaches in Hawaii! Truly a hidden gem, as this part of the island doesn't have public access, beyond a few cars, so it's just folks staying right there. https://www.wect.com/2023/06/21/100-best-beach-towns-us/

Full kitchen, enormous 36' x 12' patio with charcoal grille and sizable sectional, multiple rocking chairs, and porch swing, dining area, living room, full bathroom, queen bedroom, dual twin bedroom, two rollaway beds, laundry in unit, beach outdoor shower. Home away from home!

The entire unit of the duplex will be yours. This property is smoke-complimentary, meaning you must leave the property completely if you wish to smoke. This is a pet-complimentary property.

My favorite spot in the home is the massive 36' x 12' patio with the porch swing, and humongous sectional seating area. I adore that I can hear the waves crash from here.

Things To Do:
• Fort Macon State Park: This fort dates back to the 1800s, offers guided tours, hiking trails, & picnic areas.
• Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores: See a wide variety of marine life & exhibits.
• Water Sports: Surfing, paddleboarding, kayaking, & jetskiing.
• Fishing: You can fish from the beach, the pier, or take a charter boat out for deep-sea fishing.
• Island Time Dolphin & Sunset Tours: Sunset or dolphin-watching tour.

The space
This is a two-unit home, located between the sound and the ocean. You’ll be in the bottom unit. Please see all the photos of the space for bedrooms, bathroom, outside living, and more.

Parking:
If there is no reservation in the other unit, please feel complimentary to use the entire driveway. It will fit six cars. However if there is another reservation, please be sure to park your car(s) on the right of the driveway, leaving left side for the other unit. The driveway fits a total of six cars, so if you were to have more than three, you can park in the street as well.

Our top Morehead City rental property booking tips and tricks:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Atlantic Beach. Reserve your rental in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, management companies supply Morehead City area travel guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting and booking the best Morehead City rental home:

  • Begin by choosing your trip dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Barefoot Beach South: Fantastic location, steps from sand with views of the bay! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, contact the host before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's a certain Morehead City attraction you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.

Have a great stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
