Booking the best vacation home experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in New Bern. Reserve your rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning, selecting, and booking the right Morehead City vacation home:

  • Select a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. 1br Deluxe Condo Outdoor Gold & River Fun! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If not, contact the property owner before you book the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Upon arrival, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
