Tricks and tips to get the perfect Morehead City vacation property experience:

Finding your perfect vacation home:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. To find the most suitable rental home within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Morehead City attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Morehead City visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Planning, picking, and booking the perfect Morehead City rental home:

  • First, have your family decide on the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Updated 3rd-Floor Home With Courtyard & Partial Beach View, Shared Pools\/Hot Tub has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a particular Morehead City destination you love, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
  • To make certain that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the property manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
