Our top Vacation rental home tips and tricks:

When to visit New Bern & When to reserve a rental home:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Morehead City area. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Morehead City vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many property management companies supply Morehead City area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting and booking a perfect Morehead City rental home:

  • Start by having your family commit to dates and a budget.
  • Near New Bern Waterfront has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property manager before you book your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a specific Morehead City beach you are crazy about, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your contract.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to stimulate new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
