How to get the best vacation home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Morehead City vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.

How to select the perfect rental in the Morehead City area:

  • Start by having your family choose date ranges and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. End Unit Townhome Located in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your vacation group.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the rental manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
