Tricks and tips to get the very best Morehead City rental home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To get the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Morehead City restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting the best rental home in Emerald Isle:

  • Select vacation week and budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Sunbeam, Oceanside House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • If there's a certain Morehead City destination you are enamored with, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your invoice.

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
