Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Morehead City vacation property experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To get the largest rental home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local Morehead City visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Select your vacation week and spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Sea Glass- Walking Distance to Front Street and it's Pet Friendly! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property management company before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what is right for your vacation family.
  • If there's a specific Morehead City attraction you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
