How to book the best Atlantic Beach vacation property experience:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before booking the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Does your group require special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many concerns.
  • Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
