Strategies to get the best Morehead City rental experience:

Get the best rental value:

  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many property management companies supply Morehead City area visitor guides which will include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Filter your rental search:

  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Salt & Light, Oceanfront House in Indian Beach, NC! has 9 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
  • During arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
