Strategies to get the very best Morehead City vacation home experience:

Find your best deal:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in Emerald Isle. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a great way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Choosing and booking a perfectvacation home:

  • Begin by choosing your trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Pebble Beach A-301, Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what is best for your group.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the rental manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
