Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Emerald Isle rental home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Summertime is high season in the Morehead City area. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. 4BR Ocean Front - King MBR with Views! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is often available online. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Know before you go:

  • We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of problems.
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to propel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
