Getting the best Morehead City rental experience:

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Morehead City trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.

Planning and picking the best Morehead City rental:

  • Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Near Oceanfront Condo at Tar Landing Villas - Adjacent to Ft Macon State Park has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. If not, contact the property owner before you book the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Does your group require special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

Tips for a wonderful stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
