Finding the best Atlantic Beach vacation property experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Reserve your Morehead City vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to choose and book a perfectvacation home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Near Oceanfront Condo at Tar Landing Villas - Adjacent to Ft Macon State Park has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the host before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.

Advice for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • To make certain that no damages are linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the rental manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many issues.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to compel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
