Our top Rental property booking tips and tricks:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the most suitable rental for your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Selecting and booking yourrental:

  • Start by selecting your vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Newly Renovated Historic House. 2 bed 2 marble bath. Amazing local. Bikes incl. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the host before you book your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is right for your group.
  • Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • During check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
