Strategies for getting the perfect Morehead City rental home experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Beaufort. Booking your Morehead City vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Morehead City visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for local tours and attractions.

Filter your rental search:

  • Start by selecting vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. 20% Off Early Bird June, July, Aug! Book Now! Fantastic Views and on the Water! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • If there's a specific Morehead City attraction you love, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the rental manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
