Finding the best rental home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in Pine Knoll Shores. To get the best value, consider shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • Owners sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have coupons for local tours and attractions.

Planning and picking the perfect Morehead City vacation home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Coral Shores #11, Oceanfront Condo in Pine Knoll Shores, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before booking the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
  • If there's a specific Morehead City beach you love, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Have a great stay:

  • Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of issues.
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
