Tips and Tricks to get the best Morehead City rental home experience:

Getting the most from your budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Book your Morehead City rental in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Morehead City area visitor guides which often include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose the best rental in Beaufort:

  • Choose your vacation week and budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Blue Heron in the heart of Beaufort, it is a 5 star home! has 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
