Emerald Isle rental home booking tips and tricks:

Get the most from your budget:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Emerald Isle. To get the most suitable rental within budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. 3rd row home with PRIVATE POOL AND TIKI BAR has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property management company before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
