Morehead City rental home booking tips:

Get the best rental value:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Morehead City area. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Morehead City area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain discounts for local tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Start by having your family select dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 2nd-Floor Condo with Great View of Tennis Courts & Pool & Shared Pools has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property manager before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • If there's an individual Morehead City attraction you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

More considerations:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
