Tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:

Get the best value:

  • Reserve your Morehead City rental in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies supply Morehead City area travel guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing and booking your prefectrental:

  • Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 1 bedroom condo at Beach Resort has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. If not, call the property management company before you book the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's a specific Morehead City destination you crave, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of concerns.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
