Our top Beaufort rental home booking tips and tricks:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Reserve your Morehead City rental in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.

Planning, picking, and booking a perfect Morehead City rental home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Why Knot Getaway…Rooftop with WaterView! Unit E has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property manager before you book the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your family.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
