Strategies to get the optimal vacation rental experience:

Sticking to your budget:

  • Summer is high season in Emerald Isle. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Filter your rental search:

  • Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Traigh Point: Oceanview and Soundview, 4BR, 3.5BA has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges applied to your contract.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
