Tricks and tips to get the perfect Morehead City vacation property experience:

Find your best deal:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Reserve your Morehead City rental home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Morehead City visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain discounts for nearby tours and attractions.

Choosing the perfect rental home in the Morehead City area:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Traigh Point: Oceanview and Soundview, 4BR, 3.5BA has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available online. If they are not listed, call the property management company before booking the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • Does your family require unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the property manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to stimulate future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
